Stelios Stylianidis
Architect-Urban Planner
Stelios Stylianidis holds an MSc Degree in Architecture, and he is specialized in Urban Planning. He graduated in 1991 and for more than 30 years he is working as an Architect. He participated in more than 1000 projects, and in his experience, he covered all the aspects of Architecture and all kinds of buildings, residential, commercial, industrial, and recreational, as well as urban projects, public places, and landscapes. For 20 years, he was working as the head of the Planning Department of Limassol Municipality.
He participated actively in the preparation of Development Plans for the Conurbation of Limassol, as well as smaller-scale urban development projects such as the Development Plan of the City Centre. He is specialized in renovations of listed buildings, Architecture Heritage and Sustainable Mobility. He has several publications in scientific journals and newspaper articles on topics related to the specialty.
It also has to his credit many lectures and presentations at various conferences and universities, both in Cyprus and abroad, and has been extensively involved in scientific research on the topics of “Qualitative analysis of the development” and “Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans” He worked as coordinator of the participation of the Limassol Municipality in various European programs such as SUSREG, “Energy and Urban Environment in the Mediterranean Cities”, CIVITAS Destination, CIVITAS Prosperity, SUMPORT. He was also responsible in the municipality for the “European Heritage Days” and “European Mobility Week”.
He has represented Limassol and European Organizations as Europa Nostra, Med-Cities, CIVINET, ELTIS. He is an active member of the community, participating in several organizations and Clubs, both professional and social. He is a member of the ETEK (Technical Chamber of Cyprus) and he served as Vice President of the Association of Civil Engineers and Architects of Cyprus. He speaks Greek, Russian, and English.
