When we first encountered this site, we saw an incredible opportunity—to transform an abandoned space, untouched for at least two decades, into a charming small residence. This project perfectly blends the allure of traditional stone masonry, wooden shutters, and a wooden roof with the modern comforts and luxury of contemporary living. The restoration honors the traditional architectural typology of the building, bringing to life its distinctive features, particularly the beautiful archway at its center.
With great care for the traditional elements and respect for the craftsmanship of older methods, we seamlessly combined time-honored techniques with modern innovations. We meticulously crafted a new traditional roof and thoughtfully reconfigured the courtyard, ensuring that the building’s historical character was preserved while integrating contemporary conveniences. The original creators’ simple yet profound use of everyday materials created a small gem that has now been revitalized.
This space, once used as a storage area, has been transformed into a welcoming agritourism accommodation. The magic of this restoration lies in the rebirth and revitalization of our architectural heritage, blending the wisdom of the past with the advancements of the present.
