In Limassol, all roads lead to the sea, and all eyes land on the captivating Portgate Tower. No matter where you stand, the striking silhouette makes it impossible to miss.
Portgate Tower started as a commercial high-rise designed to house our client’s office headquarters, but it’s evolved into something much bigger taking on a life of its own. Today it is a landmark for Limassol. A statement for modern architecture. At 18 stories high, Portgate soars above the city, perfectly located near the port to welcome all with its bold, fluid, and unmistakably dynamic presence.
Architecturally, we pulled inspiration straight from our surroundings. The sea was our muse. We wanted Portgate Tower to feel like an extension of the city itself. Something that hosts and exemplifies its energy, its connection to the water, and the movement that defines life and work here.
The wavy lines scaling to the top reflect this energy in every detail. Up close, the balconies reveal shaded nooks, perfect for breaking away in the middle of the day. We opted for blue glass panes that wrap the building with its reflection, letting it pull the sea closer and play out its endless motion. The glass shifts with the sky and seasons, giving the structure a sense of life that’s always in sync with its surroundings. With three sides offering unobstructed views of the sea and the bustling harbor, Portgate is as much a part of its setting as the waves themselves.
Inside, the design speaks the same language. We worked holistically on every detail of the interior design, bringing this project to life in all its forms. The sea’s influence carries through, with curved ceiling extrusions, soft cove lighting, and even curved furniture and curved marble reception desk. We considered every line, every curve and every finish.
We are proud to see Portgate Tower being adorned locally, but also making its waves on the international stage. With three consecutive Big SEE Awards, it’s proven itself as a standout example of architectural ingenuity and vision.
