Residence #1122

Every home built on a steep hillside forces a fundamental question: Should the land adapt to the design, or should the design adapt to the land? For most architects, building on a slope starts with flattening the land, making it easier to work with, but losing the character of the site in the process.

For us, sustainability always speaks first. We see every project as an opportunity to leave the land better than we found it. #1122 in Palodia, Limassol, is the result of our seamless collaboration as architects, engineers, and designers. From the ground up, we crafted a design that rises with the land, overcoming every elevation change with smart structural solutions.

The property is made up of two separate but connected homes, taking full advantage of the changes in elevation to create a unique living experience with multiple levels and organic privacy at every turn. Cascading terraces and retaining walls are built into the slope, creating smooth transitions between levels and making the architecture feel like a natural part of the hillside.Inside, the rooms follow the land’s curves, so you get sunlight and fresh air in every corner. Pergolas and overhangs provide shade, keeping the homes energy-efficient while creating cozy outdoor areas to relax.

The landscaping ties it all together with lush gardens, stone pathways, and carefully chosen plants add to the home’s charm, creating a peaceful and inviting atmosphere.
